A Great End to 2012
Hello Students and Families!
Happy Holidays to you all! I hope that you have been enjoying your holiday season with good company, good memories, and even good food!!
I am so proud of each and every one of you for finishing our semester at the Food Ed Project strong. Your participation, excitement, and knowledge made our class super fun and even more memorable.
As the semester came to an end, we learned about important information about the environment and how it plays a huge part in the foods that go into our bodies. We even got to go on a field trip to the Potrero Hill Community Garden! You all did a great job identifying different plants and foods growing in the garden! I was especially impressed by how well you learned about PH balance and your fabulous job planting things like cilantro, lettuce, and tomatoes!
Wasn't having Chef Shiloh the best experience of the semester? She helped us learn about cooking and we even got to make things like yogurt parfaits and sushi! Your rolls looked so professional! Ms. Amanda also helped us put together our lovely show case where we displayed your awesome terranium-making skills, and we all witnessed you make cheese before our eyes!
I am just so very proud of all of you. I even learned so much from YOU, so thank you for a fabulous and fun class. I wish you all the very best in 2013!!
Big huge hugs,
Miss Christine

Dear Students and Parents,
Thank you for being a part of our amazing Food Education class! You have been doing such a great job so far, and I hope you are excited for more learning. We have just wrapped up our portion on how our bodies work and respond to the foods we eat. Isn't it interesting how our body loves some foods and doesn't like others? All of this information is so important for us to continue our on our journey together to what might be your favorite part of the class: food tasting! Soon we will be going into the garden, tasting more yummy foods, and learning about how the environment plays a huge part in the everyday food we buy and eat. Thank you for your participation thus far, and a special thank you to parents for allowing your children to take part in such a rich and fruitful learning experience. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We love hearing from you!
Warmly,
Miss Christine
